Metaverse’s most promising direction or education?

“The most potential direction of metaverse application may be in the field of education. Its immersion and interaction will greatly improve the learning effect. Its state is probably between online education and offline education. Metaverse will be a big classroom in the future.”

On March 22, Yu Jinyong, partner of Zhongguancun education investment management, expressed the above views at the metaverse education forum hosted by China education innovation school enterprise alliance and hosted by Huike group.

Chen Ying, partner and Chief Strategic Officer of Huike group, further explained the six characteristics of “metaverse + education”, which are immersion, interactivity, imagination, educational connotation, knowledge sublimation and intelligent analysis.

Chen Ying told interface Education: “UGC (user created content) is also a core content of metaverse. Roblox, the first stock of metaverse, has a high valuation because its users can create scenes and games for others to play. In metaverse, everyone is both a consumer and a creator.”

In addition, there is aigc (artificial intelligence to create content), just like the NPC in the movie “out of control player”, which is a virtual human generated by AI, which can learn and create itself. “Corresponding to the field of education, if AI is intelligent enough and does not even need teachers to design experiments, AI will design different experiments according to the weak links of different students.” Chen Ying said.

How to use metaverse to train digital talents in Colleges and universities?

Chen Ying cited the landing applications of Huike group in institutions such as the digital twin campus of Shanghai University of science and technology, the construction of XR Laboratory of Northeast University and Jinan Vocational College, the virtual simulation experiment of image defamiliarization of Zhejiang media, and the virtual simulation experiment of Beihang air and space defense radar.

For example, in the fields of mechanical disassembly, automobile maintenance and brain structure display, Huike’s metaverse education solution can restore the structure of solid models through three-dimensional modeling.

On the same day of the forum, Huike group announced that it would solicit 20 colleges and universities nationwide from now on. The first batch of pilot colleges and universities are Northern University of technology, architecture and urban culture research center of the Central Academy of fine arts, Beijing Vocational College of Finance and trade, Beijing Vocational College of economic management and Beijing Vocational College of politics and law.

“Colleges and universities have a strong driving force to seek cooperation in this field. From the previous Mu class to the virtual simulation class, and then to the co construction of metaverse education, this is actually a natural upgrading process and a rapidly rising market.” Chen Ying said in an interview with the media group.

Chen Ying said that in the future, the curriculum scope of metaverse education will be more extensive and will no longer be limited to engineering, medicine, sports, art and other disciplines. With metaverse technology in place, “almost everything you can imagine can be built in the digital world.”

With regard to the application of metaverse in vocational education, Chen Ying mentioned that because students of vocational education often need to contact with production tools, “metaverse + education” can further promote their skill acquisition in the immersion environment, and the application space is very large.

“Metaverse is the end of digitization, but it is not achieved overnight. Its implementation should be bound to the needs. Those who do education provide complete solutions for education, and those who do simulation provide complete simulation solutions.
