Liu Wei said that the new infrastructure projects represented by new networks, new facilities, new platforms and new terminals have strong demand for energy, but they have their convenience in regulating the industry and their own energy efficiency. We should promote new infrastructure projects to optimize the energy consumption structure and improve the energy consumption standards of new infrastructure projects in terms of communication, computing, storage and transmission equipment. At the same time, when building a multi-dimensional data fusion platform, we should promote the implantation and construction of energy brain platform and realize the comprehensive construction of intelligent applications such as intelligent energy conservation.

Liu Wei introduced that there are a lot of smart energy regulation needs and opportunities in his familiar new infrastructure fields such as smart rail transit and smart city. For example, the subway is a large urban power consumer, accounting for 1% – 2% of the total power consumption of the whole society, and the power consumption of subway stations accounts for 40% – 50%. The smart subway platform built with big data, digital twins, cloud computing and other artificial intelligence core technologies can achieve the best energy efficiency of the station air conditioning system through the regulation of intelligent energy-saving control technology. “For example, in Guangzhou, if this system is applied to the subway stations in Guangzhou, it can save more than 100 million kwh of electricity every year, and the peak power load of the subway station air conditioning system can also be reduced by 10% – 20%.” Liu Wei said.

Liu Wei suggested that we should comprehensively promote the implementation of energy conservation and carbon reduction requirements in the field of new infrastructure from the policy level, especially in the bidding process of new infrastructure construction such as smart city and rail transit, the proportion of energy conservation and emission reduction indicators should be added.

Liu Wei also suggested that we should encourage the use of big data, artificial intelligence and other technologies to promote new energy construction, energy conservation and emission reduction, support key core technologies such as “new energy + energy storage”, accounting and measurement, energy-saving optimization control, flexible power supply regulation and power load regulation, and promote the transformation and application of relevant technical achievements.
